We had the most fabulous time working with Henna for Zenna’s Anglo-Indian wedding ceremony at Elmley Nature reserve. The Wedding was so breathtaking it got a feature in Vogue!

Weddings at Elmley Nature Reserve

Elmley Nature Reserve is a unique and exquisite venue, offering a calm oasis in the Isle of Sheppey, only an hour from London would you believe it! The grounds at Elmley remain renowned for their natural beauty being the only nature reserve you can wed on in the UK. The views and wildlife at Elmley are simply magic; it's no wonder Zeena and Zac had their hearts set on Elmley for their Anglo-Indian celebrations.

Bridal Henna at Anglo Indian Celebrations

Anglo-Indian weddings are always a spectacle and this Anglo-Indian celebration at Elmley Nature Reserve was no exception. From start to finish the festivities were vibrant and rich in colour and culture. Bridal Mehndi is an Indian wedding tradition that is often embraced at Anglo-Indian weddings offering friends and family the opportunity to bless the couple prior to the wedding. Bridal Mehndi consists of intricate henna designs painted onto the hands and feet of the nearly-weds.

Decorating the body with henna is a tradition that dates back more than 5,000 years and is an amazing tradition that honours Indian heritage at Anglo-Indian celebrations. The Mehndi paste is made out of dried henna plant leaves and is painted onto the skin creating beautiful henna design on the skin.

The Mehndi Party at Elmley Nature Reserve

The Anglo-Indian celebrations at Elmley Nature Reserve opened the night before the wedding with the Mehndi Party, an Indian wedding tradition. The Mehndi party offers a time for friends and family to bless the couple painting henna onto the brides skin. This was the perfect start to a wonderful Anglo-Indian celebration at Elmley Nature Reserve.
